The foundation of the alliance is the Green4C consortium made up of expert universities, research institutes, businesses and international organizations in the different thematic sectors proposed by Green4C.

UNIVERSITY OF PADUA

The LEAF Department (Land Environment Agricultural and Forestry Department), is a modern research and teaching department in the University of Padua, one of the oldest universities in the world. Its main area of research is related to the use of forest and agricultural resources for the production of fibre and food, in rural development policies. More specifically, TESAF works intensively with a multidisciplinary approach on Marketing and Economics of Ecosystem Services.

ETIFOR

Etifor | Valuing Nature is a spin-off of the University of Padova, that provides international consulting services to help organizations grasp the full value of the products and services provided by nature. The Etifor team improves the economic, environmental and social benefits of policies, projects and investments through applied science, proactive innovation and good governance and works with national and international clients.

BFW

The Bundesforschungszentrum für Wald (BFW or Austrian research institute for forests) is a federal multidisciplinary research and education center with its head office based in Vienna. It consists of 6 specialist departments, 2 forestry training centres, 1 research garden and 1 research forest, at four Austrian locations. BFW covers all aspects of forests and forest management – from an economic, ecological and social point of view  and the team use science to advance sustainable forest management and mitigate natural hazards, further aggravated by climate change. 

THE EUROPEAN FOREST INSTITUTE

The European Forest Institute (EFI) is a pan-European international organisation. It has 28 Member Countries, and 110-member organisations from 37 different countries. EFI provides forest-related knowledge around three interconnected and interdisciplinary themes: bioeconomy, resilience and governance. With a staff of over 100 experts in several offices across Europe, EFI is in a unique position to generate, connect and share knowledge at the interface between practice, science and policy.


MEATH PARTNERSHIP

Meath Partnership is a regional development organisation responsible for the implementation of local, rural, enterprise and community development programmes in our region. Meath Partnership is a nationally accredited (QQI) VET and Adult Education training provider and a not-for-profit charitable organisation employing 33 full-time staff.

UNIVERSITY COLLEGE DUBLIN

UCD is Ireland’s largest university, currently ranked within the top 1% of higher education institutions world-wide, with over 30,000 students drawn from over 139 countries, over 9000 of whom are graduate research students. Since 2008, UCD researchers have secured over €1 billion in grants from leading national and international funding sources, including many of the most prestigious European awards. The School of Agriculture and Food Science at UCD will bring its experience to Green4C.

ELEVATE HEALTH

Elevate’s team of 16 educational specialists develops online and blended learning solutions for medical and healthcare professionals. In doing so, we aim to increase knowledge and understanding of health sciences among health care professionals and medical researchers worldwide. The high quality of our accredited educational programs is founded in our academic roots. Over 10,000 students have benefited from this collaborative partnership.

ISTITUTO SUPERIORE DI SANITÀ 

Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS) carries out research, experimentation, control, and education in the field of public health. The ISS includes The Centre for Behavioural Sciences and Mental Health (SCIC) that is involved in basic research in mental health as well as in the coordination of national and international projects and preparation of guidelines in the field of innovative interventions in mental health for social inclusion.


FOREST DESIGN

Forest Design is a Romanian company founded in 2004 which provides design and consulting services primarily in the forestry (forest management planning, ecological restoration, land reclamation) and related areas (biodiversity, recreation, web-mapping, GIS, monitoring forest habitats). 

TRANSILVANIA UNIVERSITY OF BRASOV

Transilvania University of Brasov (UNITBV) is the largest university in the Central Region of Romania, with more than 19,000 students and about 1,300 permanent staff members. The university has the largest research institute owned by a Romanian university (developed via an EU structural fund project). It is also a national leader in providing education and research in forestry and biodiversity conservation of forest ecosystems through its Faculty of Forestry, the partner faculty for Green4C. UNITBV is a member of the International Union of Forestry Research Organisations (IUFRO), Open Innovation Academic Network, Enterprise Europe Network.

WAGENINGEN UNIVERSITY AND RESEARCH

To explore the potential of nature to improve the quality of life’ That is the mission of Wageningen University and Research. Over 6,500 employees and 12,000 students from more than hundred countries work everywhere around the world in the domain of healthy food and living environment for governments and the business community-at-large. Researchers within the Agrosystems Research group study the field of social farming for almost 20 years. The research is focused on effect studies on the added value and effects of care farms for different participation groups but also on studies concerning the transitions of the swiftly developing sector in the Netherlands.

UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a global centre for teaching, learning and research, consistently ranked among the top 20 public universities in the world and recently recognized as North America’s most international university. International engagement is considered a priority and multiple partnerships facilitate collaborations across the globe. UBC hosts around 65,000 students, coming from more than 150 different countries. Through extensive collaborations with community, industry, government, and various university partners the university can offer enriched educational experiences for students. The School of Population and Public Health and the Department of Forest and Conservation Sciences brings its experience to the Green4C partnership.
